What are the factors that lead to low production efficiency of fiber laser cutting?

2024-11-06

The reason why fiber laser cutting machine is widely welcomed in the field of sheet metal processing is mainly because of its advantages such as high production efficiency, high cutting accuracy and low labor cost. However, there are always exceptions. Many users report that the production efficiency of the machine has not reached the expected ideal level. Why is this?

1. The nesting software tool has not yet been adopted

In the process of typesetting and cutting, the nesting software is not used, but the system is manually typed and cut according to the order of parts. This practice may cause a large amount of scraps to be produced in the plate after cutting, thereby reducing the efficiency of the plate. At the same time, the cutting path is not optimized, resulting in long cutting time, which further reduces production efficiency.

2. Lack of automated cutting technology

The fiber laser cutting machine lacks automated cutting technology and related cutting parameter database in its system design. When cutting, the operator can only rely on his own experience to draw and cut manually. Since automatic perforation and automatic cutting cannot be achieved, manual adjustment is required. If this situation continues, the working efficiency of the fiber laser cutting machine will be significantly reduced.

3. There is a mismatch between the actual cutting thickness and the cutting power

If the appropriate fiber laser cutting machine is not selected according to the actual cutting needs, for example, when a large number of 25mm carbon steel plates need to be cut, it is a good choice to choose a 6000W cutting device. Such equipment can indeed complete the cutting of 25mm carbon steel plates, but its cutting speed is relatively slow, and long-term cutting may increase the damage rate of lens consumables and may even have adverse effects on the focusing lens. Therefore, it is recommended to use 8000W or 10000W cutting processing equipment.

4. The cutting method is inappropriate

In the cutting process of metal plates, cutting techniques such as common edge, borrowing edge or bridging are not used. This leads to the extension of the cutting path and the increase of cutting time, which reduces production efficiency, and also increases the use of consumables and increases cost expenditure.

The above describes the various factors that reduce the production efficiency of fiber laser cutting machines in actual applications. Therefore, we need to find effective solutions to these problems.
